This site  The Web

New quilt patterns are finally being posted!! Obviously, website designer is not going to be listed as one of my primary talents. I think I'll stick with "She does good color". Wow...so sorry this is taking so long to get the new site launched but bear with me a little longer!! Now that the NSQG show is over, I can finally say that I have bitten that bullet and taken on shows in an enthusiastic manner. SO good to see many old friends and make many new ones. Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement! I cannot post here without first thanking my generous volunteer "staff". I would be truly lost without you.

So...here's the update on where things are now. I did vend at the NSQG Quilt Show and I think it was a great success. An amazing show of such great talent by the ladies of the guild and very well organized to boot. I was able to share this year's new Halloween Design, Night Into Day Goblins Play as well as the updated Tools of the Trade pattern. Kits for "added interest" are almost gone but I still do have a few for sale as well as the backing.

New "news".....the quilt I was working on in Renee Nanneman's new line Farmhouse Retreat was finished in time to make it to Spring Market where Renee used it as part of her Schoolhouse Session. American Patchwork and Quilting liked it and it will be published next year!!! Right now it is slated for June 2012 and should be on the newsstands by the end of April. I have named it Farmhouse Windmills but you never know what it will make it's debute as??? Also Quilts and More has asked to publish the Ice Cream Runner . That will be in their Spring/Summer Issue. As soon as I can I will share a sneal peak here...sh..h.h.h..h...!

Traditional piecing with secondary patterns continues to intrigue me but "Eclectics" is my primary focus for 2012. I am looking forward to a definite launch in the Spring. I am a guest lecturer at the NSQG guild meeting in February and will be doing a workshop on the following Saturday for a new mixed medium project called Umbrian Fields.

The teaching and vending schedule is really filling up for 2012 and 2013 and I hope to run into many of you in these travels soon. I will update the schedule portion of the website soon so that we can all plan accordingly.

Kits are available for both sizes on Winged Hearts, a few for "added interest" and both color ways on Night Into Day Goblins Play! Call me today to reserve yours !! Sorry, I still can't take credit cards but the new website WILL fix that SOON. Let me know what you think of the new patterns!

A few kits and backing options are still available for "added interest" but I am surely down to final quantities. Give me a call or send me an email so I can put it aside for you.

It's been a little while since I brought you a new Halloween design so here it is, Night Into Day Goblins Play!!! I think it was my best selling item at the NSQG show! FUN color and really wonderful fabrics designed by my friend Renee Nanneman, Needl'love Designs for Andover Fabrics. They are from her Spellbound line AND her Pumpkin Plaid homespun line ... plus a few adds of my own.
It is an uneven log cabin and there are really only 3 block variations. The basic quilt is totally doable in a weekend. It all has to do with color placement and how the blocks are organized in the quilt. YES..it's another log cabin but who can resist playing with this great block. There are SO many variations.
The "day" blocks are sunny and bright, the "sunset" blocks are obviously light and dark and the "night" blocks dark. "Night" blocks are set randomly with white centers to read like stars in the night sky while the "day" blocks are controlled in their setting with the last log being constant. This gives the end project an interesting vertical component that holds it all together. THEN if you want some more play add the optional witchy hand and bouncing balls. Yes, we all know whom I used as a model for the hand...nevermind!
Kits are available for BOTH colorways, orange or cheddar, for $85.00 + shipping. The kit includes the pattern, 23 fat quarters plus all the farbics for the top and the striped binding. An optional hand dyed wool kit is also available for the hand and balls for $15.00. I do have SOME backing. The color is not quite as vibrant as it shows up in my photography....definitely more typically vintage but not washed out.
PLEASE just call or email me if you are interested in the kits. They sold very well at the show so there are only a limited quantity available. My cell phone, so it's with me MOST of the time, is 847-308-1101.
